Born in Muskegon, Michigan. Pengame Classic grew up in a military family. Much of his childhood was spent moving tovarious states as well as living overseas in Berlin, Germany. Classic acquired his name from his love of classical musicfrom the renaissance period. He states, “I have an old school style flow with the ability to switch up my style while still maintaining the substance thatmore traditional hip-hop listeners enjoy over newer sounding hip-hop.” He first wanted to rap after his mother got him intomusic at an early age. He describes his good ear for sound coming from his mother. “My mother was always an in seasonmother, from fashion, to music and overall life. As time evolved we evolved with it. I just took what styles I liked andthought represented parts of my personality best. Rather that being riding the beat like a southern artist, to switching up toa west coast style, but centering my style in what influenced me most and thats the early 90's east coast style. I have all ofthose elements in my style today where I'm capable of jumping on multiple sounds and leave my signature on the track."“Everything started for me whenour family relocated to Phoenix AZ in 2008 where I pushed mixtapes out of my car and ran the local scene doing shows.”I started making moves rather quickly opening up for DJ Quik and Kurupt out in Scottsdale AZ at a Sean Healy event, showing my grind and networking skills, I wasn't from the Phoenix area but I met all of the right people.” After getting married in 2013, Classic transformed as a man and created a brand for his music called, "Cat3goryOtha,"which represents his style not being of the norm. Classic states “I can't be put in a category because my entire life hasbeen adapt and change. I started my mixtape series "Back To The Past." With a feature from G-13 who featured on thetrack "Nas is Coming”off the It Was Written album. I began to settle into my new role focusing more time on working aregular job and dealing with that grind, music wasn't producing money so i focused on what did." Classic
